Explore the secrets of the brain in this two-part class series! K-2 Students become brain detectives to uncover the secret of their brain being a muscle and how mistakes are actually magic to help us learn and grow. This class promotes growth mindset in a fun, interactive way through student-friendly videos, review games, and writing activities! Session 1: My Brain Is A Muscle Brain detectives learn about how our brain is like a muscle. We explore healthy vs. unhealthy habits and how we can make our brain stronger, just like we exercise our muscles! Students take part in an introductory share, situational video featuring Mojo, the friendly monster, sorting habits, and writing/drawing activity, and review board game! Session 2: The Magic of Mistakes Brain detectives learn how mistakes help our brain grow and learn through the connection of neurons! Students take part in an introductory share, situational video featuring Mojo, the friendly monster, neuron drawing activity, and educational board game!

A brain detectives activity pack will be provided, but not required. A paper/pencil or whiteboard is required for learners!

I held instructional coaching and mentor teacher positions at my previous school focusing on social emotional learning and literacy enhancement. I have a passion for helping students find success in and out of the classroom with emotional literacy!
