Beginner Level
Each week will feature a new musical that the group will discuss as a group in the 90-minute session. Each musical will offer opportunities to explore different areas of interest and may include: -acting -direction -casting and casting choices -technical aspects including sound and lighting -set design -costume design -story / themes After discussing the selected areas as a group, students will also have an opportunity to share other observations on theatrical aspects or themes. Each student will be encouraged to share their ideas, to agree, disagree and / or offer their unique perspective. Art is open to interpretation and it is great to hear everyone's analysis of the show. Equally, if student's prefer to listen only (or submit their ideas in writing to be shared with the class or just share with the teacher) this is fine too.
Learning Goals
Watch and analyze theatre for several theatrical elements
