Each week: Student will do vocal exercises to warm up their voices. I will give feedback as to help you use the exercises to improve your breathing, posture, diction, projection and range. This part of the class is like a mini voice lesson. We will work on blending as a group as well as standing out as a solo singer. Then we will do some acting games to help students with acting skills such as improvising, character, projection, and creativity. We will then dicuss the show and begin singing some of the songs and reading lines from it. Students have the choice to sing a song from the show or they can sing 16 bars of their choice to audition. We will discuss the audition process and what is expected . Then they will be cast in our class script & songs based on “Frozen.” Then we will begin rehearsing. Students will learn the songs and get individual and group feedback on their singing and acting abilities. Students will also add movements to their part. We will discuss characterization. Students will understand their character. This includes who they are, where they come from, why they are there, how they would walk or move and what they are feeling. Finally perform the show during our final meeting. Costumes are welcome, but not necessary! Students are encouraged to listen to the Songs. They should become familiar with the show and the songs.
