Musical Playdate is a fun music experience for 3-6 year olds. Music education should be FUN and that's exactly what you'll find in these "playdates". We will start by singing, then moving our bodies, then playing instruments and games!

Hello Playful Musicians! Are you ready for SING, MOVE, and PLAY? In Musical Playdate, learners ages 3-6 are taught through musical experiences called “playdates” rather than “lessons”. There are three parts to each playdate: “SING”, “MOVE”, “PLAY”. Each section begins with a Playful Musician Affirmation. This format will remain consistent throughout the curriculum, with varying themes for each playdate. Musical Playdates are both fun and fruitful for your little learner. Each playdate is designed to teach the beginning standards of music education as well as being a tool to advance the child’s kindergarten readiness. Parents are also encouraged to play along!

Supply List
During the "PLAY" portion of our Musical Playdate, we use basic percussion instruments, and sometimes props like scarves. Other times we might use items that are easy to find around the house, like paper plates. If you choose to buy instruments, I encourage you to start with 1.) an egg shaker 2.) rhythm sticks that have a rough texture for tapping and scraping. If you choose NOT to purchase instruments, encourage your child to find or create instruments you can 1.) shake, 2.) scrape, and 3.) tap. Please don't stress! If you join us without instruments we will use our original percussion instruments: OUR HANDS!

My name is Ms. Sarah. I hold a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Central Oklahoma as well as a teacher certification from my state. I have 8 years of teaching experience as an elementary music teacher, as well as 5 years spent teaching private group classes and lessons. I am also a mom of four spunky kids! Motherhood is a big part of my life and I truly believe being a mom has made me an even more compassionate educator.
I have always dreamed of creating my own music program/curriculum. During my experience as a classroom music teacher, I learned that all ages enjoy playfulness, and that being playful really is my “forte”! (Pun totally intended.) I ended my public school job at the end of the 2023/24 school year to focus on creating “Musical Playdate”. In this program, the learners are taught through musical experiences called “playdates” rather than “lessons”. During our playdates, we will explore a new theme by singing, moving, and playing basic percussion instruments. Musical Playdates are both fun and fruitful for your little learner. Each playdate is designed to teach the beginning standards of music as well as being a tool to advance the child’s kindergarten readiness in the process. They are sure to be a hit! Parents are also encouraged to play along!
