Class Experience
US Grade 2 - 5
Learners can tune in daily for a different number song each time. In each live class session, we will learn a song for a multiplication fact number (the 3s, 4s, 6s, 7s, 8s, 9s, and 12s). During the meeting, I will teach the song first a few times, so students can listen and get familiarized with it. Students will join in and sing the song with me a few more times. I will demonstrate how to use the songs to solve multiplication facts, and then learners will practice solving multiplication...
- Students will memorize number songs as a strategy for solving basic multiplication facts. For example, to solve 6 x 8, students will count by singing the song for the 6’s to the 8th multiple or by singing the song for the 8’s to the 6th multiple.
The multiplication facts songs are set to well-known songs. To prepare for this class, please familiarize yourselves with the melodies of the following nursery or traditional songs: "The Farmer in the Dell" "This Land is Your Land" "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" "London Bridge is Falling Down" "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" "Happy Birthday" song "She'll Be Coming Around the Mountain" "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" "The Ants Go Marching" "The Wheels on the Bus" "Skip to My Lou"
