In this class we will learn a different song from the different musicals such as Hamilton, Wicked, Dear Evan Hansen and more!

Class Experience

This class is an ASL class that focuses on learning how to sign the songs from the different musicals. We will learn the meaning of the signs and be able to add them to the songs. I will lead the songs and have the students follow along! They will be able to interact with me and the other students by sharing their thoughts and comments throughout the class!! They are free to ask any questions and share any insight they might have.
There is no needed experience or knowledge, I will be guiding the students with each sign and phrase!

Parental Guidance

The songs in Hamilton use some swear words. I will be using the clean versions!

External Resources

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hi! My name is Jaela, and I enjoy making learning a fun and engaging experience by teaching through music, movement, and catering to my students' individual interests and needs. Since 2019 I have taught ASL classes in various communities. I have also worked at a daycare from 2017 to the present. And I have worked as a teachers assistant from 2016-2018 in an elementary school. Currently, I am a Student Success Coordinator with AmeriCorps. I love working with children!

I'm a student at Utah Valley University where I am currently working towards a degree in American Sign Language with an emphasis in Interpreting. I love ASL, Spanish, watercoloring, playing ukulele and singing, baking, and cooking (especially gluten free things!), and look forward to teaching these things to you through Outschool.

I grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Going on hikes, snowboarding, and spending time with my sweet old boxador pup are some of my favorite past times.
