Do you love music? Do you want to learn how to play your ukulele? Join Ukulele for Beginners with Creative Action! Learn chords! Learn scales! Learn a song! No ukulele experience required. Ukulele for Beginners is a one-time class that will be structured as follows: CHECK-IN: Learners have the opportunity to share something special through sound HOW TO HOLD IT: Learners practice holding their ukulele MEET YOUR STRINGS: Learners feel the strings and decide on using a pick or no pick LET’S STRUM: Learners receive open strumming instruction CHORDS: Learners get to play barred chords SCALE UP: Learners practice chords C, A, F, G, D SONG TIME: Learners get to perform a song together CHECK OUT: Learners get the opportunity to share their experience with song and music Learn ukulele basics and jam with Creative Action!
Learning Goals
Chords of C, G, B, E, A, F, D minor and major. Plus “I’m Yours/Somewhere Over the Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole.

Parental Guidance
Help your learner participate by providing a quiet place to play and practice. Learners will need a ukulele. A pick is recommended if fingers are still sensitive to the strings. We will be learning the song “I’m Yours/Somewhere Over the Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole.

Ukulele Pick (optional, recommended for students whose fingers are sensitive to the strings)
