This class will be mostly lecture based and will use Google Slides to present information. Videos will be referenced from YouTube, and we will use Musictheory.net to practice our theory skills.

My teaching style is student-centered and interactive, asking questions and encouraging discussion frequently. I use several visual and auditory aids to present information in different ways. Students will receive constructive feedback on their assignments and final project.

Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Lynlie, and I am a flute player and teacher! I have been playing flute for almost 15 years. I have a Master of Music in flute performance. I have been hired to play at churches, weddings, and in orchestras. I have taught music to students ages 3-70! I truly believe that music is for all ages and all abilities. I joined Outschool to teach music because I love being a virtual teacher! I started my virtual teaching journey by teaching English to students in China. Teaching online allows teachers and students to connect across any distance. This gives opportunity to students who don't have a music teacher in their area. If I'm not teaching or playing flute...you can find me reading a good book or hanging out with my dog, Stanley!
