In this biweekly performing class, I will be teaching performing tips to increase students' confidence in themselves at the moment of performing for an audience. The class will cover how to talk in public, introduce yourself before an audience, and extra performing tips when playing. The class will be structured in 3 parts; First, the student introduces him/herself and the piece to be played. Second, the student performs a short piece (up to 5min). Third, the instructor gives feedback and comments on how to improve the performance. After a student plays, another student will repeat the same process with their own music piece of choice. 5-12 students perform each class. Feedback, comments, and exercises to give in class, are customized for each student's needs, goals, and performance. Students will occasionally interact with each other if they have questions or compliments about the performer. No requirements prior to taking this class. Enrollment in private lessons are highly encouraged. Students from other professors are also welcome.
