-We will review the acronyms from the previous class. I will show how the letters of the musical alphabet line up with each other on the two Clefs.

Learning Goals

The main goal for this class is for the students to easily read music notation. This will greatly enhance the student's ability to sight read and learn harder songs faster. Student's can use the information learned in this class for every instrument they want to play, not just the piano.

Supply List
Student's supplies are the PDF file workbooks listed in the welcome post. Please print out each work book (They are about 11 pages) before the lessons start so your child is prepared. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND purchasing a set of flashcards created by Jane Bastien. I have provided the Amazon Link as part of the External Resources. These flashcards are less than $5 and will be a great help to your student's ability to quickly recognize the notes on both the Treble and Bass Clef.

Hello! My name is Teacher Katie!

I am a professional harpist and pianist. I graduated with a BA in music from BYU-Idaho. I have been teaching private Piano and Harp Lessons for almost 15 years! I absolutely love it! It is my goal to help learners find their passion for music through their Piano or their Harp, or both! I also have a passion for caring for animals including my dog and my rabbit. I hope to see you in my classes so we can learn about music and introduce each other to our pets!
