During this class, students will practice creating rhythmic patterns using words associated withFall. Examples of words could be “pumpkin”, “leaf”, "acorn" etc. Students will work together with the teacher and each other to create 4 to 8 beat rhythms using the words as their rhythmic sounds. We will mostly be using words that match up with quarter notes and eighth-note pairs during the lesson. The primary focus of this lesson is to allow the students to practice rhythm and steady beat using something they are familiar with: words! The students will have an opportunity to see and connect the words with the actual rhythmic notation as time allows. No prior music knowledge is needed.
Learning Goals
The students will learn about steady beat.
The students will practice fitting rhythmic sounds into steady 4 or 8 beat patterns.
The students will practice using familiar words associated with fall.
The students will practice using quarter notes and eighth note pairs in rhythmic patterns.

Hi, I am teacher Amber, and I am so happy to meet you. I am a certified music teacher (K-12) and special educator. I taught music full time for six years as a brick and mortar teacher in a public elementary school, as well as a non-public school for student with special needs. After having my son, I began teaching ESL online and have taught English lessons for the past 2.5+ years. I hold my B.S. in Music Education K-12 and have my M.Ed in Special Education. Growing up, I knew I wanted to be a teacher and have worked with learners ages 1 through 21 in multiple facets since high school.
I have a passion for working with learners of all abilities and allowing them to be creative exactly as they are. I love teaching music concepts to students using fun and engaging activities. I believe children learn best when they are having fun and are in a positive environment. I am always looking for inventive ways to help my students enjoy and remember musical elements. I understand the importance of mulit-modal teaching, and strive to apply this in my lessons to reach all learners.
