In this one-time class, students will learn how to multiply whole numbers by decimals and decimals by decimals. This class will be structured using the following format: introductions, class expectations, lesson, review game, and a quick assessment. My teaching style follows the "I do, we do, you do" teaching format so that students are able to better understand the material by first seeing the process modeled. I will also include a ZAP review game to keep students actively engaged throughout the lesson earning points for participation. This makes the lesson much more fun and interactive for all involved. To be successful in this class, students should have a basic understanding of decimal place value involving tenths, hundredths, and thousandths.

I will display problems as needed throughout the lesson, so I simply recommend that students either have a white board/dry-erase marker or a piece of paper/pencil available to work through each problem. Thank you!

I have been a fifth-grade teacher, first-grade teacher, and I have teaching experience with all grades in between. While a classroom teacher, I had the opportunity to be apart of my district's math cadre team and was able to co-facilitate a summer math institute for 3rd-5th grade teachers in my county. Over the past year and a half, I have worked as a reading and math interventionist for Kg-6th grade students.
