Homework
Students will be encouraged to spend 5 minutes daily on a facts review focused on the content taught for that week. The practice is optional but highly encouraged!
Assessment
Throughout the class students will create a book of reference drawings. Students will take a five-minute assessment at the end of each class.

Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
Join a veteran teacher and learn your multiplication facts in a new and innovative way.  Rather than spending hours on rote memorization, this class will use characters, stories, and drawing as mnemonic devices to aid in fact recall.  Students will also be exposed to several ninja tricks that make facts easy to recall.  During the course, students will create a comic book of number characters and their stories.

Session 11: Game of 12s
Session 12: Review of all Concepts, Timed Assessment, and Celebration
Students will be encouraged to participate in a five-minute daily practice outside of class to reinforce skills and to monitor and track growth.   Multiplication facts are a critical building block for math success.  This class aims to build a strong foundation for future mathematical success.  Mrs. Merkling welcomes questions, don't hesitate to reach out!

Whiteboard Eraser or Cloth (you are fine to use any dish or face cloth you have around your house)

Ms. Merkling is a certified teacher with over a decade of experience in the elementary school classroom.  In addition, she holds a principal license and currently serves as principal of a K-8 school servicing over 700 students.  Ms. Merkling is excited to teach on Outschool because teaching is her passion.
