Class Experience
Each week in this ongoing course, students will learn a different strategy to make multiplication easier to understand. We will focus on one technique per week and learn everything there is to know about it! This includes learning how to solve a problem using this strategy and understanding how each method works. Students will be able to utilize and understand multiplication strategies to strengthen their multiplication skills.
I am a licensed elementary school teacher with five years of classroom experience working with students in grades K-5. I am well-versed in all current mathematical strategies used in classrooms across the country as well as the educational requirements set by Common Core State Standards. I work to help all students succeed in math by allowing them to find which mathematical strategies work best for them as an individual. I then work with them to develop a deeper level of understanding of their preferred strategy. I believe that all students deserve a positive learning environment where they are encouraged to ask questions and their efforts are celebrated.
Students should bring something to write on and something to write with.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
