One-time class: Students will be introduced and reminded of the multiplication facts. We will learn and review them in various ways. We will say them out loud. We will write them down. We will practice on the board. We will use a modified multiplication chart to practice and learn multiplication facts.
Students will learn, recall, remember, and practice the multiplication facts from 1 to 12.
Learning multiplication facts can be time consuming and laborious. But learning and practicing multiplication facts in a fun and game like way will help students to remember them more and more. Having worked with students of many different ages and grade levels, I understand the importance of learning multiplication facts and practicing it regularly so that it almost becomes second nature. The more one practices the better one gets.
This homework is optional, but extremely beneficial to the student’s ability to move on to higher level math and will help with all other math homework in future math classes. Practice all times tables from 1 to 12 until student has them memorized or almost memorized. Recommended practice: 20 minutes each day until memorized. Review every other day and eventually once a week. Keep multiplication facts fresh in your student’s brain. :) **Having worked with students in Algebra that had not memorized their multiplication facts, it was hard to move on and progress in the course. Student’s that have their multiplication tables memorized can focus on learning and mastering the Algebra concepts and not worry about their multiplication facts. **
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
