Does your student struggle with word problems and various topics taught in middle school? In this class, students will learn to work through multi step word problems and other various topics taught in middle school. This class is designed for middle school students who are having trouble with word problems and /or want to become better problem solvers. This class meets ONCE per week. I will model how to work through each word problem step by step using the Zoom whiteboard. The students will interact with me using Zoom whiteboard and Google slides. **Please note. Since this is a short class, learners will be muted in classes with more than one learner to avoid background noise. All learners will engage and answer questions through the chat box feature. Students need to have a basic understanding of how to solve problems involving all four operations. In this class students will learn to take apart the math word problem using four basic steps: understand the question being asked, decide what strategies to use, remember how to perform the operations in the right order, and know what it means to check your work. Thank you for considering "Multi Step Word Problems for Middle School" as your next math class. Hope to see you soon! Teacher Natalie

About Me
In 2005, I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Middle Childhood Education, specializing in Mathematics, from the University of Findlay. My passion for teaching led me to work as a classroom math teacher for nine years, where I had the privilege of educating students in grades 4-9 across Florida and Ohio.
In 2014, my journey brought me to Tampa, Florida, where I continued as a seventh and eighth grade math teacher for three more years. In 2017, I embraced the world of online education, initially focusing on teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) for four years. Over the past three years, I've returned to my true love of teaching math in the virtual classroom. I'm eager to share my enthusiasm for mathematics with your learner and support their growth in this subject!
In addition to teaching in the virtual classroom, I value spending quality time with my loved ones and friends. I find fulfillment in exploring new destinations through travel and creating unforgettable memories. Maintaining good health and fitness is also important to me, and I make it a priority by staying active through various physical activities such as walking, biking and weight lifting.
I'm truly excited to be a part of your learner's mathematical journey and look forward to fostering their growth and development in this essential subject.
See you soon!
Ms. Natalie
