Multi-Sensory Cursive Writing

In this multi-sensory cursive writing class, students will utilize all of their senses to learn to write letters in cursive. Students will enjoy sky writing, trace and copy, and have plenty of practice pages for continued work at home.

Beginner Level
The basics of effective handwriting include: posture, grip, letter formation, and sequence.  We will begin with lower case letters and they will learn them in approach stroke families.  Students will sky write, trace and copy, and utilize clay to create the cursive letters.  There will be homework for the students to practice between sessions.

Students will learn all of the lowercase cursive letters in this order:  i, t, p, s, r, j, u, w, y, n, m, v, x, z, a, d, g, o, c, q, l, f, h, k, b, e

Several sharpened pencils
Colored Pencils or Crayons
Unlined Blank Paper (15 pages)
PDF of the printable handwriting book will need to be printed and bound in a folder or notebook for the students. You will be sent the PDF handbook upon enrollment.

Jammie Payne is a private Dyslexia interventionist and has been working with students with Dyslexia and Dysgraphia for several years in addition to being a homeschool mom to children with both Dyslexia and Dysgraphia.  She is currently in the CALT training program in Texas, where she holds her elementary teaching certificate.
