US Grade 6 - 7
This course focuses on the most important skills that learners need for understanding how to add and subtract with negative numbers. This course contains one lesson taught in a single session of 40 minutes. -- Class Structure -- The general structure of the class will include a thorough introduction of the topic using simple illustrations or discussion, followed by example problems solved with instructor guidance, ultimately leading to independent practice problems followed by brief discussion of answers. The lesson will close with a summary of key points. Learners will be able to ask questions and discuss topics on the class page. I will answer all messages or questions posted to the class page within 24 hours. For the lesson, I will share my screen and guide the class through the lesson. The lesson will be conducted using a “Class Materials” PDF. This will be provided along with a separate Homework PDF. An Answer Key PDF will be provided (for homework problems) 2 days after the lesson. Learners are invited to use the provided documents in whichever way works best for them (printing or using electronically). In order to be successful, learners should have a good working knowledge of math topics in Elementary grades. Learners will need to understand the basics of how to use addition and subtraction with positive numbers.
Learning Goals
After successfully completing this course, learners will be able to:
- Add and subtract with negative numbers
Problems will be limited to integers (whole numbers), no fractions or decimals will be used.
