Class Experience

This course will be 100% student driven. In this group, students will work on their own homework assignments, projects, study for tests etc. This gives students the opportunity to have peer accountability as everyone will be working on their own assignments. There is no strict curriculum and nothing specific being taught. Students will log on, work on their own homework assignments and they can ask me for help on specific problems, or I can show them how to do the assignment, I can check their work and help them make corrections etc. I will be available to go over any questions they may have about current homework assignments, project guidance or corrections. I will support students in creating their own study materials, I will be available to quiz them on test materials, help them with homework corrections, provide models for specific problems on their assignments etc. Whatever they need, they can log in and together we will get their assignments done!

-Independance in completing assignments
-Self advocacy by asking for help when needed
-Working in a group environment
-Accountability

My Name is Mrs. Pellegrino I am a mom of two wonderful children and a teacher. I teach social skills groups, private tutoring in all subjects, I will be starting study groups for homework help, and I teach reading and math classes covering a variety of elementary level subjects. I am a certified special education and elementary school teacher and I have been teaching for a little over 5 years now. I am very good at modifying instruction to meet the needs of a variety of learners. I understand that there is no one size fits all for learning and I am always excited to try new teaching strategies so that all students are able to participate fully! I believe wholeheartedly that everyone is capable of learning and completing challenging tasks. I love to get creative with lessons and activities, I always try to include games and or singing and dancing. Other than teaching I was a professional singer and I auditioned for both American Idol and NBC's The Voice! I am excited to share my passions with my students and learn about theirs.
