This is a 4-week small group writing class which uses IEW unit 1 & 2 Note Making & Outlines, Writing from Notes. For students to take notes from a story. For students to create an outline for a story. For students to practice retelling story from the KWO. For students to write a one paragraph essay from an outline. For students to learn IEW stylistic techniques and apply to a story.
IEW Accredited Instructor. My experience with IEW expands over twenty-five years of teaching the curriculum in co-ops, my home, and privately to students. Above all, I have attended IEW seminars in person and online. Most important, I have an MA in Instructional Design and Corporate Training.
Homework Offered
The student will be required to create an outline from a story, retell the story from the outline, write a rough draft, and complete a final typed paper of the story. Stories will be read, outlined, and rewritten with stylistic techniques. Amount of time spent writing and rewriting a story will depend on the student. However, I estimate 2-4 hours a week working on a story.2 - 4 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
The student will submit their final typed story to the teacher each week by email. The teacher will review the story and discuss it with the student verbally and/or with written comments. Students must have access to a word processing program such as Word or Google Docs.Grades Offered
