Hello, I'm Mr. John! I am a teacher with 10+ years of professional experience in the classroom and online! With an ongoing subscription to this 55 minute group class, learners will have ongoing free access to my Minecraft Education Mr. Johncraft license so that they can join me and others in a safe and secure world for our group class AND practice their skills independently with the game between classes. Minecraft Education can be downloaded for FREE on PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android, and Chromebook. Most learners in this group will be exploring block based coding, however, I can differentiate for learners who are ready for Java and/or Python, too! Each class will begin with a tutorial that we will all follow along with together. Next, we get a chance to be creative and use the new coding skill we learned about in a fun and interesting way! I’ll always make suggestions but I encourage learners to get creative at this time! At the end, we’ll have a chance to talk about what we did and show off a bit. Tutorials for coding projects like Chicken Rain, Flower Trail, and Super Digger will be covered. Session topics will also be decided based on learner interest , as well as sessions that focus on things like more super powers, castles, pixel art, roller coasters, building, and music! Learners are not allowed to intentionally destroy the work and creations of other learners in the world... we will be working together! Appropriate language is also expected during the class. Any learners who are breaking the rules will be placed in Visitor mode and/or muted. If a learner repeatedly breaks the rules, they may not be allowed in the class going forward. Parental Guidance
Grades: K-12 Minecraft can be used at any grade level to support and enhance instruction and learning. Minecraft is a complex game with potential for mild violence, so guardians should be aware of this before signing up.
The learner must download and install Minecraft Education Edition prior to joining the class on their PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android, or Chromebook. Make sure you check the system requirements for Minecraft Education before you schedule this class if you aren't sure.
*Licenses can be revoked at my discretion if the learner violates Minecraft's usage guidelines and/or goes against any of Outschool's policies.
Pre-Requisites
Learners should be familiar with the basics of Minecraft. If Minecraft is brand new to the learner, it is recommended that they first take my 1-1 tutoring class for Minecraft Education Edition.

I’m Mr. John.
I am a teacher who has worked professionally for 10+ years. With experience from Kindergarten up to Grade 8 in the classroom and online, I am also a Kindergarten Specialist with additional qualifications in Special Education, Music, and Mathematics!
I teach a Kindergarten Sing-Along Circle Time, a Minecraft Coding & Creative Class, and a Minecraft Survival class for groups. I also tutor Accelerated English Programs for Early Literacy, Accelerated Mathematics Programs for Elementary and Secondary School Learners, Coding, Minecraft Education, GarageBand and more for 1-1 meetings.
My love of learning in my own life drives my passion for teaching. All learners are welcome! I encourage ESL, neurodiverse, and any other learners who think they may benefit from my programs to try them out!
