Class Experience

We will read a book together in class each day. These books are specifically for emergent/beginning readers and will be a mixture of both fiction and nonfiction texts.

Students will take turns reading the pages aloud in class. Each child will have the opportunity to read at least one page out loud to the class every day. (I of course will assist as/when needed.) When it’s not their turn to read aloud, students are encouraged to read/follow along via my screen share OR through a printed version of the book (that will be uploaded and available in the classroom each day).

After reading, the students will respond to the story through a prompted writing piece. This writing prompt will be available to print, but students may also just use plain paper or a notebook if a printer is not available.
