Description Class Experience The course is a beginning level Spanish course. Students will learn basic questions in Spanish. They will also learn vegetables, farm animals, zoo animals, transportation, professions, household objects, and instruments in Spanish. The course is taught in English and Spanish. The course will implement movement throughout instruction to foster high levels of student engagement and learning. Students will have fun as they learn with our puppet friend Allie. The seven weekly session topics that will be covered for this course are listed below. Week One- Vegetables Target Question ¿Cuales tu vegetal favorito? Week Two- Farm Animals Target Question ¿Cuales tu animal favorito? Week Three - Zoo Animals Target Question ¿Cuales tu animal favorito? Week Four - Transportation Target Question ¿Como viajas? Week Five - Professions Target Question ¿Que quieres ser cuando seas grande? Week Six - Household Objects Target Question ¿Que hay en la casa? Week Seven - Musical Instruments Target Question ¿Que instrumento tocas? Additional vocabulary will be taught within the context of each question.

Parental Guidance
There is a brief section where students will have the opportunity to demonstrate some of the action words. For example, the teacher may ask students to (salta or jump). It is recommended for students to have adequate space and supervision to demonstrate the action words. Students are not required to act out the actions as some students prefer to only watch the puppet act them out.

Hello friends! I am a certified Spanish/ESOL teacher and I am very excited to have the privilege of teaching on this platform. I am a mother of five boys and I enjoy spending time with my family. I have 20 years of teaching experience and I absolutely LOVE working with students. I obtained BA in Spanish with a minor in Early Childhood Education, an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership, and an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of South Carolina. I also obtained a second M.Ed. from Southern Wesleyan University. I have done various studies on how children learn language. I found that students learn best and have a higher retention rate when they have an opportunity to use visual, physical, and verbal modalities simultaneously. Students enjoy learning when they are engaged and enjoying the learning process. As a result, I strive to create exciting classes that are educational and fun.
