1 hour per week. Homework: Students will be prompted to take pictures of their play-dough letters and creations to submit for homework. They will also be asked to complete a worksheet after each lesson. The worksheet will demonstrate the student's ability to connect the short and long vowel sounds to their correct pictures.
Assessment
I look forward to reviewing the student's worksheets and pictures to help them progress along this course. Every student is different, depending on their homework, we may need to spend additional class time reviewing.

Class Experience

US Grade Preschool - 1
In this hands-on and engaging course, students will learn the short and long vowel sounds while making creations out of squishy dough! (AEIOU)

Running low on that magical dough? I’ve added a bonus video lesson for making your own!

Throughout the course, students will utilize printable worksheets to sculpt both capital and lowercase letters using dough. By associating sounds with letters, students will craft various objects with dough. For instance, for the short "Aa" sound, students will mold an apple, ant, and arrow, while for the long "Aa" sound, they will fashion an alien, acorn, and angel.

Working with dough not only makes learning enjoyable but also aids in information retention. With a focus on one vowel per lesson, the five-week class will feature prerecorded videos without live sessions. The video lessons will encompass a brief overview of short vowels, along with interactive classroom experiences showcasing the teacher's children completing tasks and engaging in memory-enhancing song sessions.

Student-teacher interactions will be facilitated through picture submissions of dough letter creations and phonics skill demonstrations via video recordings. This collaborative approach aims to reinforce learning and foster engagement in a playful educational setting.
Learning Goals
1) Vowel letter recognition

Hello parents and students,

I encourage learning through enthusiastic engagement. I believe children learn best through curiosity or play. Teaching online has been my passion since 2015. I was an online English teacher with VIPKID for over three years and an Outschool teacher for ever since. VIPKID taught me how to engage with students in a virtual setting. They taught me how to use props, singing and demonstrations to increase learning. I encourage student output and participation during class.

I have a bachelors degree in marketing and science. I am an entrepreneur and business owner. I have also been in the beauty industry for over 15 years. I am a homeschooling mother to my twin sons and my two daughters. I am constantly seeking creative ways for my children and students to learn new things.
