In this course, we will be going over the quantity and numbers that are associated with the Montessori Golden Bead work, along with Addition and Multiplication with the Golden Beads as well. Lesson 1 - This will be an introductory lesson on the quantity and numbers of the Golden Bead work. We will also be “fetching” different quantities and numbers with the Golden Beads as well. Lesson 2 - We will learn how to perform static addition with the Golden Beads. Learners will solve static addition equations. Lesson 3 - We will learn how to perform dynamic addition with the Golden Beads. Lesson 4 - The final lesson will be focused on learning how to perform static multiplication problems with the Golden Beads.
Learning Goals
-Students will learn and practice with the quantities and numbers associated with the Golden Beads.
-Students will also be able to solve addition and static multiplication problems using the Golden Beads.

Hello! My name is Kelsey Thornton. My sweet friends on Outschool like to call me Ms. Kelsey. I love teaching Montessori lessons, especially Math and Science lessons! I have had 17 years of experience with children. 3 years as a Brick and Mortar Montessori trained teacher (My Early Childhood credential training was under the American Montessori Society). I also have 1.5 years experience as an ESL online teacher. I also have a Bachelor of Science degree in Multidisciplinary Studies (with my main focus in Music Education).
My philosophy on teaching is following the child on their learning interests and understanding that all children learn new concepts in different ways. My approach to teaching is using the Montessori Method with some of the Montessori materials as well. This is definitely beneficial for younger students (ages 3-6 years old) as they are in their “Absorbent Mind” stage of their lives, where they are able to absorb everything they are learning with ease. I want to be able to provide for you and your family a safe approach to learning the Montessori Method all in the comfort of your own home. I love transferring this method into other ways of teaching others, including in music and content creating.
