In this arts and crafts class, learners will be able to use paint and Q-tips to decorate a snowflake for the winter season! Learners will be guided by Ms. Kelsey on how to use the Q-tips for painting the snowflake. Learners can use different colors of paint during class to make different colors of snowflakes as well. We will go step by step on drawing snowflakes with the Q-tips, along with using the worksheet provided in class to decorate the snowflake template as well. This class will help young learners on their concentration skills with using precision movements of their hands for decorating the snowflake.

There will be a worksheet with a snowflake template provided for the class. Learners will also need: 1. Q-tips (preferably cut in half) 2. Washable paint (in white for drawing a snowflake and colors of their choice for the snowflake template) 3. Paper (any color where their snowflakes can be seen for drawing the snowflake) 4. A cup to place used Q-tips in.

Hello! My name is Kelsey Thornton. My sweet friends on Outschool like to call me Ms. Kelsey. I love teaching Montessori lessons, especially Math and Science lessons! My philosophy on teaching is following the child on their learning interests and understanding that all children learn new concepts in different ways. My approach to teaching is using the Montessori Method with some of the Montessori materials as well. This is definitely beneficial for younger students (ages 3-6 years old) as they are in their “Absorbent Mind” stage of their lives, where they are able to absorb everything they are learning with ease. I want to be able to provide for you and your family a safe approach to learning the Montessori Method all in the comfort of your own home. I love transferring this method into other ways of teaching others, including in music and content creating.
