Did someone say monsters? Ahhh! In this engaging one-time reading class and game time, students will enjoy listening to "Where the Wild Things Are" and "The Gruffalo." The teacher will teach the reading skills through slideshow and then lead students into discussion. We will gather evidence from the books to analyze the characters by thinking F.A.S.T. (feelings, actions, sayings, and thoughts). We will use the stories to make connections in a variety of ways (text-to-text, text-to-self, text-to-world). Our time will include a search-and-find monster activity. After the stories, students will finish with a monster drawing game!
