1 hour per week. Homework will consist of work on character backgrounds, leveling up, and time thinking about in-game puzzles during off periods. Only the former two will be directly assigned, but doing the latter will leave more time for progressing the story of the game during class time.Assessment
Evaluation, if requested, will be based on how well the students come together to face dynamic, unexpected, situations. Are they willing to make decisions for their characters? Do they know what their characters are capable of? Are they able to work with their fellow students to overcome obstacles? Are they willing to inhabit the roles of their characters and enjoy the fun of improvisation together?Class Experience
Students will learn teamwork, collaborative storytelling, improvisation as well as practice basic math and problem-solving skills through the lens of an exciting and engaging game of Monster of the Week by taking on the roles of characters hunting dangerous monsters hunting humanity in a 1920s setting. Some basic knowledge of Monster of the Week is not required and the rules will be explained to new players. Outline of Class: Week 1 - Introduction, Explanation of Rules, Character Creation Week 2 - Learner Directed Week 3 - Learner Directed Week 4 - Learner Directed If learners join the game after the first meeting they will be assigned a temporary character and allowed to make their own character before their second session after they understand the rules.

Game will contain descriptions of fantasy violence as well as discussion of the moral implications of player character actions.
