In this lesson I will deal with the mole concept. Different definitions of mole will be discussed. How then the mole concept is applied to determine quantities of reactants and products in chemical reactions. Quantities here means moles, masses, and of course volumes. How mole is related to Avogadro's law and how that relationship is used in calculations of volumes of gases involved in chemical reactions. I will divide my lesson in to parts and students will be involved in the discussions as the class will progress. Learners will be part of the lesson during discussions.
Learning Goals
Students will learn what is meant by mole and what are different ways we can interpret it. Also how mole concept is applied in solving numerical problems in stoichiometry.
Other Details
Supply List
All learners will bring a copy of the Periodic Table with them to the class.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Sources
Periodic table will be used during the class.
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have experience of teaching for more than thirty years. I have taught to students not only of different backgrounds but also belonging to different social setups. I clearly understand what is sensitive and high -risk. I am fully capable of avoiding any situation in the class which can cause any discomfort to any student. I am fully aware of all situations which can be sensitive and high-risk.
