Assessment
I will informally assess learner progress by observing their completion of drawings throughout and at the end of each class, while also leaving time for student questions and extra demonstrations. These informal assessments will inform me on where each learner needs more guidance or challenge.

🎨In this ongoing class, learners will be introduced to a different modern (and sometimes contemporary) artist each week. The content will always be age-appropriate.

🎨Each class begins with the artist's introduction. This will be done through a slideshow for the best visual experience. There will also be discussion time to help learners put themselves in the artists’ shoes and understand what artists of the time were thinking, feeling, and seeing.
Following the slideshow, learners will get to participate in creating artwork in the style of the artist of that week. This will be a step-by-step process modeled by Teacher Mónica and there will always be time for questions throughout the class.
At the end of each class, students can share their in-progress or completed artwork to each other. It’s always okay if students need to finish their project after our meeting time - everyone has a different creative process and Teacher Mónica is here to support that!

Other Details

Learning Needs
I will be providing clear visuals and reference photos and take pauses for questions or help. If text is presented in a slideshow I will be reading it aloud so learners do not need to depend on reading it themselves.
Parental Guidance
Topics and history of each artist will be age appropriate for this class. Supplies will be posted a week in advance, and sometimes scissors are a part of the project. Safety scissors are recommended or grown-ups are welcome to cut the material before class for their learner. Please message me with any concerns or questions you may have about supplies.
