Class Experience

This themed flex class is for those Moana fans who may be a little shy and prefer to take these classes at their own pace, or simply for those super-fans that can't get enough and want to engage with a Moana themed class every week!

Each week learners will take part in an activity themed around the ocean and the songs/characters from the film 'Moana'.
They will learn to sing, dance and compete with other learners with scavenger-hunt type games and quizzes for which they will upload their results to the class.

Students will share their activities with the class and comment on each other's posts, and we will work together as a class to create content for our final honorary island ceremony from all of the challenge activities throughout the weeks.

Week 1 - Singalong, Themed interactive games - "What's missing", "Guess The Princess", "Kakamoora" & "Scavenger Hunt"
Week 2 - Learn to dance, dance games, create your own island themed dance moves
Week 3 - Mindfulness and sensory island themed craft
Week 4 - Honorary ceremony, Themed Interactive Games, certificate awards.

At the end of the course, each learner will be presented with a certificate awarding them the role of an honorary wayfinder on the island of Montunui, and their work will be highlighted and shown in a final presentation to the whole class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi I'm Sam! I'm a qualified music teacher and professional singer, and for years now I have specialised in teaching the Rockschool method - which prepares musicians for entering accredited music examinations (RSL Awards). I am also a Rockschool examiner so I know a lot about the exam process and how to get my students to pass!
I like to make my lessons engaging for learners by personalising the music and exercises I teach to their favourite styles and chart songs. I believe everybody is unique and this should be nurtured in our voices too. I train you to be the star you are!
During my time as a professional singer I have also been a princess entertainer, portraying characters like Moana, Jasmine and Tiana. You might see some of these characters popping up in my lessons every now and then!
I also have a 2 year old daughter who I do lots of singing and musical activities with and her musical talents are flourishing which makes me so proud. I'd like to create this warm and fun musical learning environment for young learners also and so you will see that I offer a range of different music-based classes for pre-school age range up to age 18 for more advanced musical concepts and skills. My aim is to provide a fun, musical learning experience through singing - that may not be commonly provided in mainstream education.
