Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, and I can't wait to share that excitement with your learner as we have discussions, play games, and make crafts that are all about Halloween. In this class, we will have a different Halloween theme each week. All activities for the week will be posted Monday by 10 am Eastern Time. There will be a content post, a photo post, and a discussion post each week so that learners can interact in the classroom in an organized way. The content posts will contain all craft and game videos for the week, as well as any game boards or worksheets. The photo post will include a space for photos of class projects or anything else learners want to share about the week's theme. The discussion post will be the place for answering questions and learning more about our favorite fall things. The schedule for this class will be: Week 1: Spiders - we will make a Climbing Paper Spider craft, talk about spiders and any stories we may know about them, and play a fun climbing spider game. Learners may also post any spider pictures they have - spider webs, pet spiders, spider decorations - anything that won't scare our friends. Week 2: Black Cats - we will make a Craft Stick Black Cat craft, talk about any black cats we have seen in real life or in shows/movies/books, and play a black cat dash game. Learner's may also post any black cat pictures they have - dressing up for Halloween, family pets, decorations, or cute cartoons - whatever they would like to share. Week 3: Mummies - we will make a Mummy Treat Bag craft, talk about mummies and other classic monsters heard about, and play a Mummy Treasure Hunt game. Learners may also post any monster pictures they have - dressing up for Halloween, mummies in a museum, monster books - anything that is spooky but not scary. Week 4: Jack-o-Lantern - we will make a Paper Plate Jack-o-Lantern craft, talk about our jack-o-lanterns and any we have seen that are really cool, and roll a funny jack-o-lantern sentence. Learners may also post any jack-o-lantern pictures they have - at their house, carving jack-o-lanterns, cool decorations - you can't post too many jack-o-lantern photos. I will do my best to respond to all classroom comments in 24-48 hours. Interaction in the classroom is not required, but it will be encouraged. Learners can post as much or as little as they like as long as it is appropriate content.
