Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! My name is Catherine Robinson and I am so excited to be working with your young learners. I started my journey in education after graduating with a bachelor's in Early Childhood Education from Stevenson University. After graduating, I taught first grade for two years and then went on to teach second grade for two years. While teaching at this level, I went on to pursue my masters degree in Interdisciplinary Arts Infusion (Arts Integration). I graduated with my masters from Towson University in 2019. After graduating, I went on to teach Arts and Humanities, a project based learning class that encourages students to use different art forms to express their thinking, to learners in grades preschool through fifth grade. In an effort to learn more about the arts and how it can be implemented into the classroom, I went on to participate in an Arts Integration Specialist certificate program with Education Closet and was rewarded a certificate in 2020.
Outside of school, I love to read and dance. I am part of a book club that actively reads and discusses a new book each month. My favorite thing to do is snuggle up with a warm blanket and a good book. When I taught first and second grade, I loved sharing my passion of reading with them through various read alouds and small group reading instruction. I also teach jazz dance once a week to young girls in my community. I have been dancing my entire life and can even do the moonwalk like Michael Jackson. The arts are my greatest passion and I strive to be an advocate for all learners to have access to the arts inside of the classroom.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with your young learner!
