Participants can expect to be taken on a fun and interactive journey through the stories of the Kings of Athens up till the birth and youth of Theseus. We will delve into the mythology that gave Athens its name as well as the mythical heroes who built it. Images and some video will be shared to help bring the story to life and as the storyteller, my goal will be to use my theatrical and voice-artist background to make the tale memorable. Students will learn about the lineage of Athenian Kings up to Theseus, Hercules, Pylas, Minos, Aegeus, Aethra, and Medea. All information is primarily sourced from Pseudo-Apollodorus' Bibliotheca. Students will be encouraged to speak, ask questions, and be questioned themselves with a focus on comprehension skills and critical thinking.
