Lesson 1 - Novaโ€™s Battle
Description:
- We will learn the basics of how to get started in Minecraft using Tynker. We will import a Minecraft world and learn to personalize the playerโ€™s skin using Tynkerโ€™s skin editor. We will learn how to use code blocks to provide the player with the defense armor automatically and also to summon any entity.

Learning Objectives:
- Understand the Tynker Skin Editor interface
- Encourage children to customize the skin of the player
- Learn to connect Minecraft with Tynker


Lesson 2 - Build a Trap
Description:
- We will be introduced to the concept of loops as we learn how to repeat tasks automatically. Additionally, we will learn how to use code blocks to automate tasks and craft a trap for attacking invaders.

Learning Objectives:
- Understand the Tynker Mod Editor interface
- Learn to deploy Tynker mod in Minecraft
- Learn to automated defence mechanisms using code
- Learn about loops concept


Lesson 3 - Empowering Enchantments
Description:
- We will learn about Minecraft enchantments, which is a way to upgrade or add abilities to Minecraft items. Additionally, the students will use code blocks to enchant their Minecraft items.

- Learn to enchant items using enchantment table
- Learn to enchant items using code
- Learn to trigger events on receiving chat commands


Lesson 4 - Rebuild the City
Description:
- We will learn how to program TynkerBot to build simple structures. Additionally, they will learn how to deploy and use customized Minecraft blocks as they help Nova rebuild the city.

Learning Objectives:
- Learn to customize Minecraft blocks and items
- Learn to be build 3d shapes in Minecraft using code
- Learn to be build structures faster using code


Lesson 5 - Underwater Fortress
Description:
- We will learn about crafting and how to use crafted blocks to enchant their Minecraft items.

Learning Objectives:
- Learn to customize mob and change its behaviour
- Learn to spawn mobs in the world using code.
- Learn to create underwater structure in Minecraft.


Lesson 6 - Gather the Troops
Description:
We will learn to use Redstone, tripwire hook, string, oak trap door, and a water bucket to create a pit trap. Additionally, the student(s) will use code blocks to summon an army of iron golems to fight the enemies.

Learning Objectives:
- Learn to change game mode and time using code
- Learn to automate systems using Redstone circuits


Lesson 7 - Explore the Nether
Description:
- We will learn how to create a nether portal, mine gold in the Nether world, and craft a weapon using the gold.

Learning Objectives:
- Learn to build portals to nether
- Learn to survive in nether world and collect materials
- Learn to auto-mine in the Nether world


Lesson 8 - Minigame Maker
Description:
- We will learn about variables, and their usage to store the count of the gathered diamonds.

Learning Objectives:
- Learn to design game and code the game mechanics
- Learn to use variable to count the score
- Learn about conditional statements
- Create a server and invite friends to play together

Minecraft Bedrock Edition is required for this program and it requires a Microsoft account to play. See below:

Other Details

Parental Guidance
In this class, the student is expected to have the Minecraft Bedrock version installed on their system before joining the class. Bedrock version only works on the Windows PC. If you are using a Mac/Chromebook it is recommended to install Minecraft on a second device such as an iPad/tab. We will share the step-by-step guide to install Minecraft and account creation. In case you encounter any challenges while installing Minecraft, we will be more than happy to assist you. The teacher will be able to see the username/gamertag of the student during the class. In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses: Minecraft Bedrock Edition https://www.tynker.com/ login supplied during class; does not collect personally identifiable information.
