"An 8-Week Guide to Healthy Social Media Habits" is a comprehensive course tailored for middle and high school girls, emphasizing responsible digital engagement and emotional well-being. Each concise 25-minute session dives into practical strategies and insights to foster a balanced relationship with social media, empowering girls to navigate the online world confidently. What will be taught? Throughout the course, students will learn crucial skills such as setting boundaries, managing screen time, recognizing digital stressors, practicing digital empathy, and cultivating a positive online presence. Each lesson will equip students with actionable techniques and mindfulness exercises to enhance their digital well-being. Topics covered: Week 1: Introduction to Healthy Social Media Habits Week 2: Setting Boundaries and Managing Screen Time Week 3: Recognizing and Managing Digital Stressors Week 4: Navigating Comparison Culture Week 5: Building a Positive Online Presence Week 6: Understanding the Impact of Social Media on Mental Health Week 7: Cultivating Offline Connections and Hobbies Week 8: Creating a Personalized Social Media & Self-Care Action Plan How is the class structured? The class is structured as a sequential 8-week group program, with each session focusing on a specific aspect of healthy social media habits. Lessons are designed to be concise, engaging, and actionable, ensuring students can easily integrate the concepts into their daily lives. How will the class be taught? Teaching will involve a blend of interactive discussions, real-life examples, mindfulness exercises, and practical tips. Visual aids, such as slides and video clips, will be used to enhance learning and maintain student engagement. This course requires for 3 learners to be enrolled to begin to create a collaborative learning environment.

Parental Guidance
The intention of the class is not to elicit reports of personal experiences with mental health from learners. This class will not be taught as therapy or group therapy. If the learner begins to share any personal mental health concerns I will kindly ask the learner to refrain from further discussion in front of the class and to continue the conversation with a trusted adult. If a learner ever shares something that is concerning, I will reach out to parents after class depending on the context of the information
