Students will learn to find purpose, to develop their eye, to create artistry and to find the unseen for their photographs. I am a professional life photographer of over 15 years looking to bring my professional experience down to a level that anyone can enjoy and understand. I will give tips every week and I will participate in the weekly challenges with the class! Students MUST take photos each week to make this class successful! One of the most important aspects is learning to share about their work! It encourages creativity and builds confidence! Ongoing Class Breakdown Each Week Week 1 In this class we will talk about photography concentration work. Several examples will be given about what this type of work includes. For the week 1 photo challenge, we will brain storm together to come up with a unique photography topic Individually, to photograph for the following week. I will spend the last 10 minutes discussing techniques to remember when taking a photograph. Week 2-4 10 minutes discussing last week’s photo challenge topic and what we enjoyed. We will also discuss things we encountered along the way 10 minutes of group share time showing our photographs of the weekly topic 5 minutes of a tip of the week (lighting, composition, creativity, focus etc.) 5 minutes introducing the next weeks photo challenge topic. I enjoy multi day classes because I can really get to know the students and they seem to enjoy getting to know each other! I am hoping this class brings a growth mindset and confidence to each learner as they explore, create and share! The time commitment live each week is short and easy to commit to! Each week, students will photograph and send their pics to me for the following weeks photo show!
Learning Goals
Each week will have a mindful 5 focus. There will be one topic, and the student will produce 5 photos that represent that topic. This is known as concentration work (works describing an in-depth exploration of a particular concept) and helps the photographer get a deeper understanding of a concrete topic and allows for extreme creativity with simple abstract topics!

Learner will need a camera of some sort to take the photographs and will need to upload them to me in the teacher message center before class!

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Business and an Associates in Special Education.
I believe learning comes alive when we are able to participate in the learning. My teaching style is fun and interactive with LOTS of visuals! I have 15+ years combined experience working in homes with individuals who have special needs and teaching in private schools, home education, co-ops and online ESL training. As a side hustle I have owned my own photography and graphic design business of 16+ years! I love people, entrepreneurship and creativity! I am excited to bring that to this online platform!
My years of experience span educating children with all learning styles and abilities! We all learn differently and each child deserves to have individualized understanding and learning through a variety of material presentation visual, audibly and kinesthetically :)
