I will provide extension activities and suggestions if students would like to continue the creative flow of ideas.Class Experience
In this class we will stretch our mighty minds and think creatively about summer themes like the beach, playing outside, animals, and foods. Our world needs creative thinkers and skilled problem solvers! There are 4 dimensions to describe creativity: *Fluency-- generating lots of ideas, making lists, brainstorming (example: How many yellow things can you name?) *Flexibility-- the ability to look at things from a different viewpoint (example: If we didn't have a shovel, what would be another way to dig in the sand?) *Originality-- generating unique, unusual, or unexpected ideas and products (If you could design something to block the sun from from your picnic, what would you use?) *Elaboration-- adding details, filling in gaps, and completing new ideas (example: Looking at a picture of a pineapple, students will turn it in to something else.) Meeting 1: We will cover Fluency and Flexibility (including, but not limited to the ideas listed above). Meeting 2: We will cover Originality and Elaboration (including, but not limited to the ideas listed above). Learners identified as gifted and talented would thrive in this class, but all are welcome to bring their ideas and stretch their mighty minds!
