Homework
2-4 hours per week. Students will watch the instructional videos throughout the week and complete the assignments. Students should plan one hour per day to complete all homework assignments.
Assessment
Students will receive a completed checklist with a grade for all papers turned in weekly. Late homework will not receive feedback.

Class Experience

US Grade 5 - 8
This is the SECOND semester of this course.  Students MUST complete the first semester to enroll.

The lessons in this course will teach creative writing and report writing using IEW Structure and Style.  Structure teaches students how to organize their thoughts before they write.  Style teaches students how to engage the reader with literary devices called dress-ups and decorations in IEW. This course also incorporates Fix It! Grammar Book 3.

Students watch the video lesson and complete the work each week prior to class day.  Papers MUST be typed. This class will use GOOGLE CLASSROOM to upload all homework. Feedback and grades will be provided. Late papers will not be accepted. On class day, the content covered in the video lesson is reinforced and opportunities for students to share their work with peers are provided.

Unit 6: Summarizing Multiple References
Unit 7: Inventive Writing
Unit 8: Persuasive Essay Model
Unit 9: Formal Critique

Students who take online classes with Mrs. Brown benefit in four ways:
