Beginner Level
Gina Jude Curriculum teaches a class on developing a science fair project, where the air buzzes with excitement as students dive into the world of discovery! With every vibrant poster board and bubbling test tube, young minds ignite their creativity, transforming mundane ideas into extraordinary experiments. Gina expertly guides her enthusiastic group through brainstorming sessions that feel like exhilarating treasure hunts for knowledge. She encourages them to ask bold questions—like how plants respond to music or what makes volcanoes erupt—and watch as their imaginations take flight! Each student is equipped not only with scientific principles but also with the confidence to explore uncharted territories of inquiry. With laughter echoing in the classroom and hands covered in colorful materials, they embark on this thrilling journey together, ready to present their groundbreaking projects at the upcoming science fair! Students will be taught the scientific method using experimentation and then take their own ideas for a scientific investigation and develop into a project. This is an active hands on class and students will get more out of it by actually participating in the process. Most materials for the class will be able to be purchased in your local grocery or drug store.
Learning Goals
Students will ask a question or state a problem that can be answered through experimentation or design as their science fair project (SP1 - Asking questions and defining problems).
By writing our an overview of their science experiment, students will begin the initial planning of their experiment or design (SP3 - Planning and carrying out investigations).
