Middle School Science: Designing an Experiment Using Scientific Inquiry

In this live course, students will be introduced to the scientific process of inquiry and learn how to design and conduct a controlled experiment. Analyzing techniques such as data tables and graphing are explained and practiced.

This lesson will help students practice naming the variables in an experiment.

To help write better conclusions, this lesson has students practice writing the CER (Claim, Evidence, Reasoning) structure.

This lesson practices identifying variables in an experiment.

  • Upon finishing this course, students will be able to explain the goals of modern science, design and analyze an experiment, and be able to recognize possible errors.
