Class Experience
This middle school math class is a great introduction for statistics and probability. This class will introduce learners to statistical questions, various ways to display and analyze data, mean, median, and mode, and basic probability. We will define the math terms as well as introduce how to solve stats and probability problems. Students will be provided with guided notes and interactive practice problems. Students will be introduced to statistics and probability and learn to interpret and analyze statistical questions and their data representations.
I have a B.S. in Secondary Mathematics Education from the University of South Florida. I have experience teaching Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry in a public Middle School. I have 10+ years of experience as a math tutor for ages 11 to 18.
Optional homework will be assigned after each class. The homework will be 8 to 14 questions and should take 20 to 30 minutes to complete as the topics discussed in class are reinforced.
Guided notes will be provided for students to print out.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Students will be informally assessed during class with practice problems and will have the opportunity to submit short homework assignments.
1 hour 10 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Khan Academy will be used during class as I share my screen and optional homework will be assigned on Khan Academy. An account is not required for students to access the assignments.
