Middle School Math Camp - Master Real Numbers & Scientific Notation

The course will focus on classifying real numbers, place value, exponents, and using scientific notation. Students will work with exponents. and will convert numbers between standard form and scientific notation.

Day 1 - Classifying Real Numbers Students will learn the definition of real numbers. These numbers include natural, whole, integers, rational, and irrational numbers. They will explore the various types of real numbers using a graphic organizer. They will classify real numbers. Students will classify real numbers. Students will explore place value. Students will explore square and cube roots. Students will convert numbers in standard form into scientific notation. Students will convert numbers that are in scientific notation and convert them into standard form.
I have been a certified math teacher for 15 years. My undergraduate is in Math and I hold a Masters' in education. I try to engage students in a variety of ways to teach students with varying learning styles and needs. These are essential skills that will be needed for Algebra and Geometry as well as other higher levels of math that students will encounter in high school and college. I will provide high-quality instruction for your student.
