Middle School Math 3 Prealgebra - FLEX - Rational Numbers
What's included
Homework
Practice homework will be provided along with a full answer key for checking the answers. However, there will be no answer key provided for the quizzes since I will be grading them to offer feedback. I always include every step in my answer keys so students and parents can see where any errors were made.Class Experience
US Grade 5 - 8
Attention: I have received many requests for a placement test for my classes so I created two. This is for my classes for 4th through 8th grades. I also have another one for my Algebra classes. The link for that one is posted on the description for my Algebra 1 class. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1KbTF1rLQGOVtveDRTSDYAuBdzkuvU-D4?usp=sharing In this series of classes, students will learn topics generally taught in 7th and 8th grades. Week 1: Adding and Subtracting Negative and Positive Fractions and Integers Week 2: Multiplying and Dividing Negative and Positive Fractions and Integers Week 3: Adding and Subtracting, Multiplying and Dividing Negative and Positive Decimals Week 4: Ratios and Proportions A video will be posted at the beginning of each week. Students should have paper and pencil while watching the videos as time will be added within the video to complete practice problems. A discussion question will be posted in the classroom each week and students will join in the discussion by answering the question(s) and replying to other students. I will also be participating in the discussion. Math articles may also be used occasionally to facilitate class discussions. In addition to homework problems, a quiz will be provided each week which students can turn in for grading and feedback. A picture of the quiz can be sent to me by uploading it to my Dropbox folder through the link I will give you. You do not have to have a Dropbox account to upload the homework to my folder. I use the gradual release method of teaching: " I do, we do, you do" - First, I demonstrate how to do it (using several examples). - Next, the students do some problems along with me. - Finally, they are provided with one problem at a time to complete on their own before watching me demonstrate how to solve the problem. I believe repetition is the key to learning, so we do many problems together during each session (through the video). Then, when I ask them to do a problem on their own (again, through the video), I go over it afterward, so they can see any errors they may have made. I find that this reduces any anxiety some students have about math.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a Florida certified teacher who taught middle school for 10 years and I have been teaching mathematics to homeschoolers from grades k-12, both in person and online for over 2 years. I always wanted to be a teacher, and I am living the dream! Also, I cater to students who struggle with or do not care for math.
