This is the first quarter of a year long class that will introduce the learner to Spanish basics as well as mastery of beginning conversational skills.

Beginner Level
I am an interactive teacher with the goal of making learning both fun and educational.  My classes include interactive discussion, games, songs and role play. Each class will begin with a warm up/greeting. We will then discuss the previous lesson/homework if applicable. Once new information is introduced via class lecture, google slides and at times video clips, we will practice the content using fun, interactive games and conversation. This will allow the learner both guided practice as well as independent thinking before the end of class. Students will be encouraged to complete assignments before the start of each new class. 
The following concepts will be presented:
wk1 and ongoing Identify, pronounce and utilize words and phrases from the following vocabulary topics:
 wk1 Greetings and how to use them in conversational Spanish  
 wk1 Numbers 0-30 and telling time
 wk1 Colors, singular and plural
 wk2 Days/months/dates 
 wk3 Classroom objects and courses in Spanish
 wk4 Describe the similarities and differences between School in the learners home country 
 and school in Mexico
 wk5 The verb "ser" as well as the subject pronouns and how to use them orally and in writing
 wk6 Family members
 wk6 Adjectives
 wk7 Clothing vocabulary
 wk7 Parts of the body vocabulary
 wk8 Food vocabulary
 wk8 Identify and describe a holiday in Mexico and explain the history and cultural connections behind it
wk1-8 Basic questions and answers for personal disclosure
Learning Goals
Students will recognize and formulate responses tor basic questions connected to each vocabulary unit.
Share basic information about oneself in Spanish using the vocabulary and verb structure we studied during the quarter.

 Students will participate in activities with numbers orally and in writing

 Students will express likes ad dislike for various colors in Spanish

Lesson 3:
Greetings and how to use them in conversational Spanish
 Students will greet one another with the appropriate phrases

 Students will introduce themselves and ask a question of another student

Other Details

Supply List
Paper, writing utensil and the ability to join Kahoot and Quizlet in class. We will utilize "Kahoot" and "Quizlet" as a group to reinforce new material. I will also, at times, play a 2-3 minute video/song from Youtube to introduce the class to an educational song.
