Learning Goals
Your student will learn how to:
- read and balance chemical equations using the law of conservation of mass.
- use specific indicators to identify chemical reactions and describe why they occur.
- read the periodic table.
- use the periodic table of elements to understand relationships on the table and how they affect bonding.
- how to write chemical names.
- use Lewis dot structures.
They will also understand the following:
- the importance of the electromagnetic spectrum in chemistry.
- the nature of electrons.
- acids and bases
- other critical theories in chemistry.
