In this lesson we will explore the political, economic, and social system that characterized medieval Europe, focusing on the hierarchy of kings, nobels, knights and peasants, as well as the distribution of land and power.
Lesson 2:
Chivalry and Knights
Together we will dive into the code of conduct for knights, the role of chivalry in medieval society, knightly training, tournaments, and the romanticized ideals versus the realities of knighthood.
Lesson 3:
Science and Medicine
Let’s investigate the advancements and knowledge in fields such as astronomy, alchemy, herbal medicine, and surgery during the Middle Ages, exploring the contributions made by scholars and practitioners of the time.
Lesson 4:
Plague and Pandemics
We will examine the various disease outbreaks that affected Europe during the Middle Ages, especially the Black Death, considering their social, economic, and demographic consequences on medieval society.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
There will be mentions of war and sickness where many people died. There will be visuals showing war scenes to help illustrate what is being discussed. Students should be mature enough and prepared for these battle scenes.
We will discuss the inequality of people based on economics, race and gender.

I have a Bachelor‘s degree from Geneva College and minored in cross culture studies. During my 4 years in college I studied history and various ancient cultures. I have over 17 years experience teaching children and teens engaging lesson in both public schools, online courses and private seminars. In all of these experiences, teaching history and culture was a very large part of my job description. I previously held credentials through the State of Ohio and the state of Minnesota’s Departments of Education (both now expired). I taught in public schools for 2 school years where history and other social studies was part of my duties as an educator. I have over 6 years of experience teaching history to children on online platforms and have taught thousands of kids to live history. I pride myself on never letting kids get bored yet always be learning. I have a passion for helping children succeed.
