With 15+ years experience as a Special Education teacher in Canada, I specialize in teaching reading, spelling, and writing to students with reading difficulties such as dyslexia using the Barton Reading & Spelling System, which is an Orton-Gillingham influenced reading intervention.

I now use the Orton-Gillingham method and IEW materials and methodology to help students reach their literacy goals and have exclusively taught online since early 2023. I have experience teaching reading to children with the following learning difficulties:
-Dyslexia (or other specific learning disabilities)
-ADHD
-Auditory Processing Disorder
-Articulation difficulties
-Autism Spectrum Disorder
-Students who are gifted
I am a trauma-informed teacher and recognize that many children have experienced trauma not only in their lives, but also in their journey to learn how to read. I recognize the many strengths that children have, especially those who have dyslexia or other learning disabilities, and target my intervention to use these strengths to the child's advantage.
Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or would like to meet to discuss the potential of working with me to reach your child's literacy goals.
