May the Fourth is Star Wars Day and celebrating is must for every serious Star Wars fan! We can celebrate our love of art and Star Wars all year long. This listing is for our young Padawan class (ages 7-11). In this class, we will be creating a galaxy themed painting with acrylics. Students will be learning the following techniques: - Frottage (adding texture to paint), blending and stippling - Controlled splatter paint (and paint dilution) - Layering and mixing custom colors - Basic brush and palette knife techniques (palette knife is optional but will be demonstrated) - Color theory - Design and drawing (or tracing) Students will be provided with a template of the Death Star to print out and trace if they need assistance with drawing it, or they can freehand, which is what I will be demonstrating in class. If they choose to paint another character or a spaceship instead, I will assist them with some tips on how to do that too! My art classes encourage personal expression and interpretation. There is no wrong way to paint your panel, and my classes are always upbeat and positive. Bring your strongest Jedi thoughts to class and create something epic!
