Description
Class Experience
Learners will practice communicating their thinking, reasoning and problem solving strategies while solving problems related to multiplication and division, addition and subtraction, fractions, geometry, decimals, pre-algebra and more.
I am a certified teacher with a Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Arts and additional qualifications in math for grades K-6. I have been working with learners for over 10 years and strive to create an encouraging and supportive learning environment. My goal is to make math less intimidating as I believe there is no such thing as a “math person”. We can ALL do math!
We will use mental math, but learners have the option of using paper/pencil or a whiteboard/marker.
No formal assessment will be done. Learners will receive verbal or written feedback during or after each class.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
